The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a way of supporting people with a disability to get the help they need, exercise their human rights, and participate in everyday life.

In the past, funding for disability services would go directly to an organisation. People with disabilities did not have a say in what services they received, by whom, or where or when they received them.

Today, the NDIS represents a different approach. Funding can now go to the person with a disability — and it is for them to decide which organisation provides their support.

You have more choice and control — and the power to be independent.
